Diesel Technician – Mainland Ford

ATTENTION ALL DIESEL TECHNICIANS!

About The Role

The Diesel Technician contributes to the operational efficiency of the shop by maintaining, repairing and diagnosing vehicles in accordance to Trotman Auto Group and manufacturer guidelines, ensuring that our customer visits meet and exceed expectations.

Wage: 38.00 per hr. based on experience + performance bonus

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Trotman Auto Group and manufacturer policies, along with local, provincial and federal laws including those governing the rules of the road, and health and safety
  • Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance requirements in accordance to manufacturer guidelines
  • Perform duties as outlined on repair orders and discuss status with service advisors
  • Perform road tests on all vehicles in which repairs, diagnostics and maintenance has been performed
  • Recording all pertinent information clearly on completed repair order
  • Ensure internal/external customer vehicles are protected by using proper covers, such as seat, floor and fender covers
  • Maintain vehicle records by documenting service, repairs, vehicle status and future repair requirements into DMS system
  • Make use of all resources available including team leaders, when required
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and notifying Service Management of equipment condition
  • Remain abreast on product knowledge, manufacturer updates, bulletins and recalls, and technical knowledge
  • Achieving and maintaining CSI and fixed right the first time scores above regional/target averages
  • Diagnose and report existing conditions and additional repairs to the appropriate parties
  • Communicate effectively with Service and Parts staff
  • Road test vehicle(s) as required to identify concerns and ensure quality control
  • Assist in housekeeping of the shop and service department
  • Assist colleagues with maintenance repairs
  • Provide written, prioritized quotes for necessary recommendations to service repair
  • Additional duties as outlined by management

Qualifications:

  • Valid Red Seal or equivalent certification
  • Desire to exceed customer expectations through a “Fix it right the first time” attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of technical repairs and procedures
  • The ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create sales goals and objectives for the department, which includes a marketing plan to promote new and repeat business
  • Provide training and real-time coaching to Parts Advisors and Parts support staff on administering policies, procedures and sales strategies
  • Ensure Parts Advisors are kept up to date on manufacturer campaigns, bulletins and outstanding recalls
  • Ensure Parts Advisors maintain their manufacturer training guidelines
  • Host routine departmental meetings to increase training and development in an effort to grow the department
  • Remain abreast on departmental sales metrics and provide communication, training and development to attain target metrics
  • Keep up to date on manufacturer warranty and policy procedures while serving as a liaison with factory representatives
  • Maintain and control parts inventory and perform periodic parts inventory audits
  • Perform annual inventory count.
  • Perform parts returns of aged inventory
  • Maintain the highest Customer Service Index rating from customers by handling all customer discrepancies immediately and according to dealership policy
  • Efficiently assist customers (internal and external) with the highest level of service
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
  • Respond to all allocated sales inquiries in a prompt and effective fashion
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates on the cost of parts
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Trotman Auto Group’s Core Values in all interactions with clients, colleagues and vendors.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a Parts Manager role for an OEM Auto Dealership
  • Experience as a Parts Manager within a Domestic manufacturer preferred
  • Strong leadership characteristics, with a strong emphasis on the ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base

Full-Time Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

Part-Time 2-3 days a week 9:30am – 6:00pm

Wage: $15.00 per hour plus bonus

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently help customers (internal and external) with the highest level of service
  • Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; checking vehicle maintenance records and examining service schedules, effectively communicate to Service Advisors and/or Technicians
  • Generate service appointments by following the TAG’s Retention and Business Development Program
  • To service all allocated Sales/Service inquiries in a prompt and effective fashion
  • Prepare a detailed and accurate estimate of all service scheduled with client and ensure estimates are communicated to customers
  • Conducting after service follow up calls
  • Communicate customer feedback and concerns to all appropriate parties and supervisors and ensure all notes are documented in customer file
  • Assist in all mail out/email campaigns, i.e. draft mail out letters, follow up calls to campaign list
  • Remain abreast on all manufacturer maintenance schedules, updates and outstanding recalls
  • Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers and emails

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Automotive Appointment Coordinator is preferred but not required
  • A proven track record of success in sales and customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently (written and verbal)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the desire to exceed expectations
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid Class 5 or 7 BC driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract

About the Role

The Automotive Detailer will perform extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of vehicles both inside and out, to produce a show-quality of detail. Besides improving appearance, the Automotive Detailer will help to preserve the value of the vehicles.

Schedule: Tuesday – Thursday 11:30am – 8:00pm, Friday and Saturday 9:30am – 6:00pm

Wage: $14.60 – $17.00 per hour based on experience

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing various degrees of detailing vehicles within the Sales department inventory
  • Ensure all vehicles cleaned are done so in a show quality level
  • Performing exterior cleaning of inventory inclusive of;
  • Removing any decals not belonging to TAG, and
  • Install all TAG decals, degrease exterior prior to cleaning to remove grit and dirt
  • Vacuums interior of vehicle
  • Conditions vinyl and leather
  • Cleans all trash, debris and dirt from the interior of the vehicle
  • Polishes the dashboard, steering wheel, trims and moldings inside the vehicle
  • Reconditions the vehicle’s exterior
  • Waxes and buffs vehicles after washing
  • Fixes minor scratches and chips with touch-up vehicle paint
  • Manages the inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Notify Sales Management of dent/damage/stains to vehicle condition prior to detailing
  • Delivery of vehicles to Sales area upon completion of detailing

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Automotive Detailer is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors and stand on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Applicant must be flexible with assuming day and evening shifts
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Valet vehicles to service department clients
  • Managing the flow of traffic for the dealership lots and the general service area
  • Driving customer cars to designated parking areas in a safe and efficient manner
  • Documenting trips, including names of passengers and destination or pick-up point as a Shuttle driver when necessary
  • Maintaining the shuttle vehicle’s appearance and notifying the Service Manager if the vehicle requires any servicing
  • General clean-up of vehicles after service
  • Conduct Pre-clean ups on customer vehicles when necessary

Qualifications:
